Robinson Cano
Is Al Reyes and Ryan Dempster for Robinson Cano a good trade?
First out it is a 14 person league and I have no body I can drop straight out and not feel stupid about.I would be getting Cano. Right now I need the roster spot and am wondering if I should be getting better value.
My closers are putz, fransico cordero, Hoffman, Borowski, and Dotel on the DL. There are 4 spots to put them in so I figured to trade some. SHould I possibly trade one of the other closers for something nicer?
Key pitching stats in the league: W, CG, SHutout, k, ERA, K per 9, and NO WHIP.
I have Freddy Sanchez at 2b, but I could use Cano on my Util considering the size of the league.
You do not say who your current second baseman is. Do your really need a new one?
Of those closers, Cordero and Hoffman are the keepers.
I would feel comfortable trading any of the others.
You mention the number of pitching slots for relief pitchers. Have you considered adding a relief pitcher that is also qualified to fill a Starting Pitcher slot? Too often managers leave their normal starters in the SP slots even when they are not scheduled to pitch. That is a waste. Consider keeping a smaller number of position players on your bench and add pitchers. Those non-closers will pick up a few wins, and occasional save, and enough strikeouts to make the difference in the standings.
